| On my family's most recent vacation we visited the ultimate ranch. It
is located near Bloomsburg,PA not far from either Philadelphia or the Amish
country around Lancaster,PA.
The ranch(farm) is called The Rolling Hills Red Deer Farm and as you may
have guessed it raises Red Deer. Red Deer as I understand it is really a
type of Elk and many of the Red Deer are crossed with Elk. There are also
some that have been crossed with white tail deer.
It is a very interesting place to visit and I highly recommend it. The cost
of the tour is six dollars for adults and three dollars for kids. The tour
lasts about an hour and includes letting you feed the animals. But I caution
you when feeding watch for the animals to suddenly turn their heads. The
huge racks they have look like they could be deadly if you don't duck quickly
enough!
