| Jimmie Johnson continued his dominance of the Nextel Cup Series today
with a win at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He led for half a lap but it was
the one that counted. After the race went to overtime for the third time
in three races he passed Matt Kenseth ,who was nursing an ignition problem
,after leading practically the whole race.
It was Johnson's second win in three races. He finished second at Fontana
two weeks ago. He has done all this while being led by substitute Crew Chief
Darian Grubb. His regular Chief Chad Knaus is on suspension for violations
during qualifying at Daytona.
For the Earnhardt Nation; Dale Junior finished twenty-seventh after
he was caught speeding in pit row during the final yellow. I don't think
he would have got a top ten but he certainly would have come close.
For the Regis and Kelly Lee fans; Jeff Gordon finished fifth on a
day when his skill seemed to over shadow the car. Whatever you might think
of the diminutive DuPont warrior he can drive.
